On July 30, 2015, the Chincoteague Legacy Group was able to sponsor the filly of the late Surfer Dude and Got Milk to live her life in freedom as part of the Chincoteague Wild Pony Herd.
By popular vote, she was named CLG Surfer’s Blue Moon on Thursday, August 6th, 2015.

The foal, a black beauty with a white blaze, set new records going for $25,000.

Once again, CLG members came together in 2016 and on July 28, 2016 purchased two more buybacks to add to the CLG family. They were named CLG Wild Star and CLG Bay Princess.

And yet again, CLG members donated enough funds to buy two more buybacks at the July 27, 2017 auction. For the first time, a colt was added to the CLG family along with another beautiful filly. Â The colt was named CLG ToMorrow’s Tidewater Twist in honor of founding member of CLG Kim Morrow whom we lost in the last year. The filly name chosen was CLG Cowboy Kisses

I recently joined the Chincoteague Legacy Group. .I never read the Misty book, but I love animals of all kinds. I learned of the ponies from Sue Johnson of Blue Crab Treasures. She has been featuring my crocheted crafts in her shop for over a year. Last year she had me make some pony dolls to sale during Pony Penning week. And this year she asked me to make a Blue Moon pony. The pony has been very popular. So far I have made and sold over 40 of them. Next up are Riptide ponies, which will be available soon. Anyone interested in either a Riptide or Blue Moon pony can contact Sue, as they are sold exclusively through Blue Crab Treasures.
